Marketing agency vs. business consultant: which your SME needs
They're not the same and hiring the wrong one costs time and money.

One of the most expensive confusions I see in SMEs is hiring a marketing agency when they need a business consultant, or vice versa. They're not the same and hiring the wrong one costs time and money.
A marketing agency brings traffic, leads and presence. A business consultant orders the system that converts that traffic into sales and profitability. If you hire the agency without the system, you spend and see no return. If you hire the consultant without capture, you order but don't grow.
When you need a marketing agency: your business already has a product that sells, a decent closing process, and what's missing is more prospects.
When you need a business consultant: your problem isn't capture but system. The business depends on you, you don't know your real profit, the team doesn't perform without you.
The most common mistake: hiring an agency when the problem is system. Leads arrive, no one follows up, no one closes, and the owner blames the agency. The agency did its job: it brought people. The problem is there was no system on the other side.
Which do you need first? If you don't know your real profit and the business depends on you: consultant first. If your house is in order and what's missing is growth: agency first. If you don't know: a diagnosis.
